Maumbury Rings and Dancing Ledge |
Two pieces inspired by the landscape of Hardy's Wessex. Maumbury Rings is in tremolo throughout, Dancing Ledge features passages of dreamy thoughtfulness, exciting rhythms and climactic percussiveness. A suite of four pieces after the manner of Scottish folk music. The movements are: Pastoral, Hornpipe, Lament and Gig. The suite is dedicated to Ben Verdery. Reviewed by Classical Guitar magazine in July 2001: "a superb virtuoso concert item". Click here for the full review. |
